FRC: Frequently Asked Questions


1. What is the difference between an evaluator and a moderator at FRC? 
Evaluators attend the presentation, gather evaluation forms and provide the presenter constructive feedback immediately after his/her presentation.  Moderators introduce the speaker, assure that the session stays on time, collects all audience evaluations to provide to the resident and overall facilitation of each session.
2. How do I submit my name to be a moderator/evaluator?  Registered preceptors are required to be a moderator and/or evaluator. When Registering, please indicate a preference to be a moderator, evaluator or either. The moderator/evaluator schedule is created in mid-April, based on the residents' presentation schedule. Preceptors should be prepared to moderate/evaluate up to two sessions. 
3. Is experience required to serve as a moderator or evaluator? No
4. Will I be scheduled to moderate or evaluate during my resident's presentation? The schedule is arranged so you are able to attend your resident's session, however, you may moderate your resident's session.
5. How will I find out when I am scheduled to moderate or evaluate? The schedule will be posted under the "Conference Schedule" link.
6. What if I am unable to moderate/evaluate my assigned session? We understand.  Please let us know the name of the alternate preceptor from your program who will be serving as your replacement. It is important that you report the change in advance of the conference to Katlynd Sunjic (
7. Is one-day FRC registration possible? No, only full registration is available.
8. What is the refund policy for the registration fee? Canceled registrations will be refunded based on the following scale:
  1. Canceled > 4 weeks prior to FRC: 100%
  2. Canceled > 3 weeks prior to FRC: 75%
  3. Canceled > 2 weeks prior to FRC: 50%
  4. No refunds will be issued at two weeks or less prior to FRC
9. Can residents select the date/time of their presentation?  No, residents should plan on participating in the entire conference in support of their fellow residents.


10. Do residents need to submit their presentation prior to FRC? The presentation does NOT have to be submitted prior to the conference. However, each resident MUST have his/her presentation reviewed by their Residency Program Director and the FRC Review Form submitted with the resident's abstract. Residents should bring their presentations on a jump drive in addition to emailing the presentation to themselves in case of technical issues with the drive onsite. Please ensure presentations are saved in a compatible version for earlier versions of PowerPoint. Residents must report to their presentation room five (5) minutes prior to the session start time in order to download their presentation on the computer. Excellence in Research Award Finalists must submit their presentation ahead of time to be included in the Opening Session slide deck. This deadline will be provided once finalists are selected.

An FRC Program Booklet containing all of the abstracts will be provided on-site to all registrants.
