The Florida Residency Conference (FRC) is a symposium designed to give pharmacists in post-graduate residency training programs an opportunity to gain experience presenting original research and engage in fellowship with other residents and preceptors from Florida.

Registration
Online Registration will open Thursday, January 3, 2019.

Preceptor and Resident Professional Development Track
All preceptors and residents are invited to participate in this continuing education (CE) track scheduled for Thursday, May 16th.
Please indicate your interest in attending on the registration form.

Moderator & Evaluator Meeting
All preceptors in attendance will be serving as either an evaluator or moderator for up to two sessions. Each preceptor should indicate preference for moderator, evaluator, or either on the registration form. All preceptors are strongly encouraged to attend the short moderator/evaluator informational meeting prior to the start of the opening session on Thursday, May 16th to clarify expectations.

Opening Session
The Florida Residency Conference will kick off with an Opening Session on Thursday, May 16th. The Opening Session will consist of general announcements, a keynote speaker, and presentations form the Excellence in Research Award finalists. All attendees are encouraged to attend.

Resident Presentations
The conference itself consists of several concurrent presentation sessions over the two days. Each resident presentation is allocated 15 minutes (12 minutes for their presentation and 3 minutes for questions). There are 5 minutes between presentations to allow transition between speakers. Continuing education is awarded in 1-hour blocks for each session (total of 3 presentations per session). To qualify for CE, attendees must stay in the same room for the entire 1-hour session.  A 10 minute break between sessions allows for easy transition from room to room. RESIDENTS, PLEASE NOTE: Computers may not have the capability to allow for presentation mode, please be prepared with written notes or a tablet to reference, if needed.

Evaluations
All residents and preceptors are strongly encouraged to fill out an evaluation form on each presentation they attend. The session moderator will collect evaluations after each presentation. The session evaluator will meet briefly with the resident immediately after his/her presentation to provide constructive feedback. An electronic survey will be distributed to attendees after the conference to evaluate the speakers and the program as a whole for accreditation and CE purposes.

Lunch
The agenda provided on-site will outline scheduled lunch times.  Lunch will be provided for all attendees on Thursday, May 16th and Friday, May 17th (included with conference registration).

Breaks
Refreshment breaks are scheduled between sessions to allow an opportunity to network, plan which presentations to attend next, or just relax and unwind (a popular activity for residents who have already presented). The area designated for breaks is just outside several of the presentation rooms so please remember to keep conversations to a minimum when residents are presenting.

Social Networking Event

All registered attendees are welcome to attend the FRC Social scheduled for Thursday, May 16th from 4:45-6:30 pm. Cocktails and light appetizers will be served. The event location will be the USF Alumni Center.
