Controlled Substances


  1. Schedule II controlled substances cannot be refilled even during an emergency

  2. Pharmacy is closed and wishes to move controlled substances to another location
    1. Federal law only allows controlled substances to be stored at the address on the DEA registration certificate of the registrant who ordered them.
    2. Permission to relocate those drugs would have to be given by DEA.

  3. If a pharmacy experiences a loss of controlled substances, a DEA form 106 must be filed with the regional DEA office.
