Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Inc. (FSHP)  Operations Director Celebrates 20 Years!

Tamekia F. Bennett began working at FSHP less than a year out of college. She advanced and excelled over the years going from Administrative/Membership Coordinator, to Director of Continuing Education and as of 2016 to the Operations Director. During that time, she has witnessed the many changes to FSHP and pharmacy in Florida.

Tamekia Bennett, FSHP Operations Director “I am grateful, and Thank God for the many roles that I have held within the Society. I attribute my growth and longevity in association management from not only the successes, but also the challenges that I have faced along the way. I’d like to thank the FSHP Board of Directors for their unwavering support, the FSHP staff and the wonderful members that make up this great Society! It is my goal to ensure that you are receiving great services, quality continuing education and pertinent and up to date information about the profession of pharmacy. I am looking forward to the years ahead.”

Anyone who has worked with Tamekia knows how lucky we are to have her leading the operations of FSHP. Her vision and leadership has helped to put FSHP on a solid foundation from which we continue to grow as the premier pharmacy association in Florida.

Tamekia, or as many of us know her ‘Meka’, is a native of Quincy, FL. She attended James A. Shanks High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication with a minor in English from the University of Florida.

Meka is married to William J. Bennett and they have two sons, JaCoby and Brayden who always accompany their mom to every FSHP Annual Meeting!

Help us in congratulating Tamekia ‘Meka’ Bennett today!

Meka 20 years ago you were just new and I still had hair! You stood quietly by taking orders and letting others bask in the limelight and benefits. But when the bad times came you were there with knowledge and quiet efficiency and helped guide us out of some very dark corners. The Society can never really repay you for what you have done and what you are to FSHP. I am proud to have watched the transition and honored to have worked with you.

You are effective, efficient, personable, visionary, stable, considerate, kind, thankful, sincere, welcoming, flexible, directing and professional.
