FSHP Congratulates New Board Members

On behalf of the FSHP Board of Directors, we would like to announce the following results of the 2018 Election…




William Kernan, PharmD, MBA, is the Director of Pharmacy at Cleveland Clinic Florida overseeing pharmacy services for a 205 bed hospital, an outpatient pharmacy, two oncology infusion pharmacies, an ambulatory surgery center, and multiple surgical and medicine clinics. Dr. Kernan received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Purdue University and completed a PGY1 residency at University Medical Center (now UF Health Shands) in Jacksonville, Florida.  Prior to becoming the Director of Pharmacy, he was a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist serving as the critical care pharmacist and he established the PGY1 pharmacy residency program at Cleveland Clinic Florida.  He has served as a Board of Director for the Florida Society of Health System Pharmacy (FSHP) and is currently the Chairman and Treasurer of the FSHP Political Action Committee.  He has also served as President of the Southeast Chapter of FSHP and has chaired the Florida Residency Conference Steering Committee. 






Karen Sando, Pharm.D., is the Assistant Dean for Assessment & Accreditation and an Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy. She graduated from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (UF COP) in 2008 and completed a PGY-1 (ambulatory care) at UF in 2009. From 2009 to 2010, she worked as an Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacist at Shands Jacksonville. From 2010 to 2017, Dr. Sando served as a faculty member at UF COP and provided clinical services within UF Health Family Medicine. She directed a PGY-1 residency program from 2010 to 2013 and then directed an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 (ambulatory care) from 2014 to 2017. Dr. Sando has been actively involved in FSHP since 2008 and currently serves as Chair of the Legal and Regulatory Affairs Council.  She is also an active member of ACCP and AACP. Dr. Sando has published in diabetes management, hyperlipidemia, and educational research.



Gary Dalin, MS, RPh, FASHP, is currently a staff pharmacist at Boca Raton Regional Hospital where he previously served as the Director of Pharmacy.  He also worked at Baptist Hospital of Miami as the Director of Pharmacy after working there previously as the Assistant Director of Pharmacy.  Gary has been very active in FSHP, having served as President in the ‘80’s as well as maintaining his activities on the Legal and Regulatory Council for many years, including as the Chair of the Council twice.  Outside of FSHP, Gary is active in the South Florida Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association where he is the current Chairman of the Board of Directors. 



Michael J. Schuh, PharmD, MBA, FAPhA, is a an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine, Palliative Medicine and Pharmacy at Mayo Clinic and  clinical provider at Mayo Clinic Florida’s clinical ambcare practice serving pharmacogenomic, solid organ transplant, bariatric surgery and pharmacotherapy patients. He is an APhA Fellow, past Executive Committee member and Communications Committee Chair, co-founder and past coordinator of the APhA Medication Management Special Interest Group where he served as Chair of both the Education and Business/Practice Model Committees. Dr. Schuh is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research, Coordinator in the UF MTM Master of Science program and holds clinical appointments at other leading universities. Dr. Schuh is a long standing FSHP HOD delegate, Legal and Regulatory Council member, former member of various FSHP task forces and a 2015 FSHP Distinguished Service recipient.
